About the event
Anatomy, Strength, and Somatic Awareness
This workshop provides an accessible and anatomically grounded introduction to the core and pelvic floor as they relate to posture, breath, and movement. Participants will explore the basic anatomy of the deep abdominal muscles, diaphragm, and pelvic floor, and how these structures work together to provide stability and support.
Through guided movement and simple strengthening exercises, students will learn how to engage and release these muscles safely within a yoga context. Emphasis is placed on awareness, breath coordination, and recognizing common patterns of overuse or under-engagement rather than diagnosing or treating dysfunction.
In addition to structural understanding, this workshop gently explores the somatic significance of the pelvic space. Participants will discuss how stress, tension, and lived experience can influence holding patterns in the core and pelvic region, while maintaining a clear scope of practice.
